While RPI jumped six spots in U.S. News’s annual rankings of the Best National Universities, individual programs are also making their marks:
The Art Career Project has named our Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program #7 nationally.
In order to prepare RPI students to pioneer a new computing paradigm, RPI has established a minor in quantum computing.
We just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone across campus who helped make our fall admissions events such a success! Across the five events, we hosted 836 prospective students (a total of 2,240 visitors). Whether you greeted families, hosted a session, or simply made our guests feel welcome, your efforts made a huge difference.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has announced that Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has renewed the test-optional admissions policy for another year. Any student who applies to attend RPI as an undergraduate in the fall of 2026 will be able to choose whether or not to submit SAT or ACT scores. Students applying to the Physician-Scientist Program (in conjunction with Albany Medical College) will be required to submit the appropriate testing.
Award-winning TV series shares authentic student stories while highlighting the college experience.
Now online, the IBM quantum system will expand the longstanding RPI and IBM partnership to accelerate quantum computing research, workforce development, and education in New York.
The Admissions Building at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has been named in honor of Dr. Nancy Deloye Fitzroy ’49 — the first woman to graduate from the Institute with a degree in chemical engineering — and her husband and fellow engineer, the late Roland V. Fitzroy Jr.
